6 reasons your landing page isn't converting (and how to check yours in 30 seconds)

These six are the parts Page Sheriff scores on a landing page. Paste one public URL to start. That takes about 30 seconds, and there is no account to create. The score usually comes back in a few minutes.

Where the page loses people

Each share is how that part counts toward the score out of 100.

  1. Reason 1. Clarity of offer · 22% of the score

    The offer is unclear

A new visitor should be able to say what you sell, who it is for, and what they get, without scrolling.

A line like “the modern platform for teams” makes people guess.

Name the product, the audience, and the outcome in ordinary words, above the fold.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The clarity score looks for an offer a first-time visitor could repeat.

  2. Reason 2. Call to action · 20% of the score

The next step is weak or missing

One primary action should be visible without a hunt, including on a phone.

“Submit” and “Learn more” hide what happens next.

Several buttons of equal weight split the click.

Put a single clear action where the visitor can see it, and label it with what they get.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The call-to-action score looks for one obvious next step and a label that says what the click does.

  3. Reason 3. Headline · 18% of the score

The headline could belong to anyone

Cover the logo. If the headline would still fit a competitor, it is not earning its place.

Name the result, or name who it is for.

    Specific beats clever.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The headline score checks whether the line is specific to this page.

  4. Reason 4. Trust · 17% of the score

Nothing on the page earns trust

Cold visitors look for a real business: who operates it, how to reach you, what it costs, and what happens after they act.

Use details you can stand behind.

Skip invented testimonials, review counts, and badges.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The trust score uses only signals the page actually shows.

  5. Reason 5. Objections · 13% of the score

    The obvious objections go unanswered

People hesitate over the price, the time, what they have to hand over, and what happens if it is not a fit.

Answer those next to the decision, in plain sentences.

Only write what you will do every time.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The objections score looks for answers to those hesitations in the copy that is on the page.

  6. Reason 6. SEO basics · 10% of the score

    Basic SEO is unfinished

The title and the description are what search visitors read before they arrive.

A missing title, a generic description, or an image with no alt text makes the page harder to understand.

This is the smallest share of the score.

It is still the first thing some people see.

How Page Sheriff checks it. The SEO basics score checks on-page items such as the title, the meta description, and image alt text. It does not measure Core Web Vitals.

How it works

How the free audit works

  1. Step 1. Paste one public URL

Open Page Sheriff and paste a landing page or sales page. The free audit does not ask for an email or a password. Starting it takes about 30 seconds.

  2. Step 2. Get a score grounded in the page

You get a score out of 100 and the six sub-scores. Each fix is tied to evidence on the page, and a second pass drops findings the page does not support. This usually takes a few minutes. A complex page can take longer.

  3. Step 3. Read it free, or go deeper

Use the free score and the top fixes as they are. If you want more on the same page, choose an optional one-time report. You can stop at the free result.

The offer

A free audit. Paid reports if you want them.

Free audit

Paste one public URL. You get a score out of 100, six sub-scores, and the top fixes. Each fix is tied to evidence on the page. A second pass drops findings the page does not support.

Optional paid reports

Paid reports are optional. Each one is a one-time purchase in US dollars for the page you pasted, and no tax is added at checkout. The score stays the one from that snapshot. A higher tier keeps the verified findings from the same snapshot and goes further. Each report adds concrete corrections, checked copy alternatives when the page supports them, and a downloadable PDF.

All sales are final.

Questions

Is the audit free?

Yes. The free audit scores one public page out of 100, with six sub-scores and the top fixes. Each fix is tied to evidence on the page. Paid reports are optional.

Do I need to sign up?

No. The free audit does not ask for an email or a password. Paste a public URL and read the score. Buying a report is separate, and checkout uses an email so you can open the report.

What does Page Sheriff analyze?

One public page: the URL you paste. That can be a landing page or a sales page. Page Sheriff does not crawl the rest of the site, and it does not see private checkout data.

What are the limits?

Page Sheriff does not measure Core Web Vitals. The only accessibility check is image alt text. Bot-protected pages cannot be analyzed. Pages that are not public, including password-protected pages, cannot be analyzed either.

Are sales final?

Yes. Paid reports are one-time purchases in US dollars, and all sales are final. The written terms are in the Page Sheriff Refund policy.
